Many years of innovation and experience accumulated at USystems producing cutting edge design solutions for data centres has been channelled into developing the most effective and efficient cooling solutions for data centres large or small.
Data centres are the power house of today's global economy, without modern computing power applied to all facets of today's advanced economies, the quality of life would be very different.
However great the benefits, there is one unfortunate fact that today's data centres are highly inefficient, in their use of energy and their subsequent effect on the global climate.
There are various methods available to help correct these inefficiencies, enabling a cost effective, energy efficient and money saving solution - here are three of them from the ColdLogik range of solutions:
ColdLogik CL20 rear coolers
ColdLogik Convex Aisle Containment
The ultimate in energy savings the ColdLogik CL20 rear cooler (RC) range is an innovative cooling solution which replaces the traditional approach to data centre cooling. Whether removing 2kW or 45kW of heat per cabinet the CL20 is designed to maximise energy savings with the added benefit of removing real estate problems inherent with other data centre designs.
The waste heat generated by equipment within the cabinet is removed at source by water cooling, without the risk of leakage in the data centre by utilising the 'patented' leak prevention system.
ColdLogik RC's allow supply cooling water temperatures to rise from the traditional 6 to 10ºC to typically between 18ºC & 22ºC; the options to provide free cooling are greatly increased, so far ColdLogik RC's have been used in conjunction with 'bore holes', 'cooling towers' along with more traditional chillers and free cooling units - providing energy savings of up to 98% over traditional data centre cooling.
The ColdLogik Management System 'CMS' allows the RC's to operate individually or as a system to maintain the room at the correct ambient temperature even with heat loads not contained within the cabinets. Whilst the CL20 Rear Coolers are retrofitable to OEM 19", 23" and ETSI manufactures cabinets, it should be noted that RC's are frequently retrofitted to SAN cabinets such as IBM, EMC², Bull, Hitachi etc.
ColdLogik Convex Aisle Containment

Thermodynamically advanced, cost and energy efficient, the Convex Aisle Containment system is the latest contribution to the ColdLogik range of inspired data centre cooling solution options.
Convex Aisle Containment is suitable for new builds and is also fully retrofittable onto both USystems and OEM cabinets for new build or existing data centres without affecting day to day operations, where the cold or hot aisle can be contained to maximise cooling efficiency.
ColdLogik CAP - Controlled Air Path
To improve the efficiency of a CRAC-based data centre design, USystems' ColdLogik controlled air path CAP units isolate and guide hot air out of the top of the cabinet into a ceiling plenum.
Removing hot air from each cabinet by ducting the air through funnels on the top of the cabinet - in a controlled manner through to the ceiling plenum - is a logical, simple and highly cost effective improvement to managing data centre cooling.
